Uses for Rulers

i heard that people use wooden spoons for not allowing water to boil and splash all over, so i thought if it worked for spoons why not a ruler. we tried the experiment and it actually worked. the ruler absorbed the splashes and steam and dripped it back down in the pot. the accidental experiment was due to not finding a large woodent spoon so we used this and now you've found another use for rulers.
