Self Lighting Fire Starters

Here's an idea that I've found helpful whenever I go camping. Self lighting fire starters aren't new and have been around for a while, except I put a slight twist on it instead of using strike anywhere matches I'm using storm matches. Storm matches, if you're unfamiliar with them the're basically matches that will burn in any condition, they are matches on steroids if that gives you an idea. Well here it is, I hope you enjoy.

You will need the following:
  • Storm matches
  • Hot, melted candle wax
  • Scissors
  • Paper towels

Start by cutting the paper towel into strips.

If the strips are too big then trim them to be slightly shorter than the match.

After your piece is cut, wrap it around your match and dip it in the melted candle wax.

After you pull it out, let it dry for a few seconds, once it's dry then it's ready to use. All you do to light it is strike it like a regular match then place it under some dry sticks and start your fire. It will burn for about a minute and will burn in the rain, wind, and cold to get your fire burning.
