Power Rangers Prop, Gunstick Blade Blaster Easy
these can be quite pricey on ebay or from other sources and if its just for costume wear on your belt then this is the easyest cheapest way to make one.
you will need cardboard, cellotape, paints and scissors to create it.
you will then need black and red paints and a brushe to paint it
to finish off you will need a black fine liner sharpie or a fine marker and foil tape to decorate the details.

Template
first you need to mark out this shape above, its fairly accurate as I managed to get one from ebay (for less than market price I got really lucky) and my friend needs one for his costume later this year so rather than spend 25 quid or so I decided to make one for her.
any ways draw this shape out its roughly 35 cm long and 9cm wide.

Cut It Out.
cut out the shape
Replicate
remove the handle section with scissors
(or if your older a craft knife)
next use this as a template and draw out on card 7 of these, or six if you use this one as well.
cut them out and tape or glue them together.

Egg Shapes
next cut out two of these oval shapes and stick them either side they should fit between the tip and handle as shown
painting, this is up to your own artistic skill
i painted the whole thing red then used the actual one to get the black parts accurate, you can look on the net if you want to be 100% sure of colours etc.
next you need to use the sharpie/marker pen to draw some detail for definition, if you mess up you can always repaint over and try again.
for the teeth parts at the back i used a strip of siver foil duct tape and wrapped it round then draw a zig zag teeth pattern.

Details
now using silver tape cut out a tiny eye piece and six elongated diamond teeth shapes and 3 claw parts and draw the spike design with marker. as shown in my pic. again check the web for pictures if your struggling.
Finished Product
as you can see there is more detail on the original and it can turn into a gun and make noises etc, but for a cheap costume prop that was made for less than £2 its somthing to think about and im sure there are people out there who can make one better with my template, if so put it on the site I'd like to see.
