Bipolar disorder brings patients through a roller coaster of many highs and lows. During the highs; the patient tends to overspend, pick up new hobbies, live without inhibitions...which can lead to a slew of poor decisions. They then feel so bad about how they've acted they become depressed. Making is my way out of that cycle. I spend my manic times making so that there's one less thing to be depressed about (and one more affirmation in my arsenal) during my lows.
