Making a Trivet on the Laser Cutter

I took the laser cutter class at the Tech Shop http://www.techshhop.ws and went back the next day to work on the machine on my own. I started with small projects and this was one of them.

I chose the design from the web. It's a lute rose which I then traced into Corel draw (the Tech Shop http://www.techshop.ws uses Corel or Adobe Illustrator) I used drop box to send it to myself and opened it there at the Tech Shop.

I set the machine for the speed and the power, having learned from first project, I lowered the one and bumped up the other from the chart suggestions.

I watched as the machine etched the design in the wood. A big payoff for very little effort.
