Deciding a Patterns
first off I'm going to teach you how to make plushie these are very simple way to learn how to sew. They also make great gifts there creative and are great for budgets. Making these requires only a sense of basic shapes.
Finding a Needle
this is a crucial step you want to go to your local fabric store or just to a near by wal-mart,hobby lobby,or anywhere else the sell fabric you will probaly find a variety pack like seen below.
Finding Thread
the thread you use should be the same color as the fabric you are sewing. If not it will look vary tacky and look like there was not much effort put into it. a spool of thread should only cost you $1.00-$2.00 and will come in a variety fo lengths and colors
Threading a Needle
this step you will need some patients. first collect all your materials. then get your thread pull a good a good amount of thread out. it should be about 24-25 inches the amount you use will change depending on what project you are working on. then pull the recommended needle out. you will probably want to wet the thread to straiten it this will make it easier to thread the needle put it throught the hole then have the two end meet then tie your double knot.
Choosing Materail
the clothe for your plushie should be soft and bright colored. I recommend felt it's soft cheap and it comes in many a different colors. this step you have to use some amount of creativity my plushie is going to be brown with white eyes
Drawing Plushie
this step is creating a monster plushie. to sew my monster is very simple he is just a square with one large eye. I've cut out a square and large eye shaped pieces of paper. I'm going to trace these onto my fabric then I'm going to cut these shapes out after that I'm going to pin the fabric together making sure it is straigth.
Sewing Your Monsters Eyes On
to sew your monster together is the hardest part you want to sew the eyes on first then you will sew the body together. to sew the eyes on you want to make quarter inch stitches to do this all you need to do is push the needle through the fabrics and pull it it out on the other side and repeat this till eye is sewed on. I call it the running line stitch
Sewing Monsters Body Togther
all you have to do is create another running line stitch but make sure that you leave about an inch so that you will be able to pull it inside out. you may want to go over the stitch again to insure strength. After sewing the monsters body together you need to pull the monster inside out so that the stitches a hidden.
Stuffing Your Monster
this is a very simple step all you have to do is fill your monster with stuffing you can put as much in as you want what ever firmness you want. then you will want to finish by stitching up the one inch hole you left.
Now Enjoy
I hope you had fun learning that is it enjoy your new found skill and I hope that you will teach others good bye
