Gathering the Supplies and Tools

Ok you will need

- a dead 9 volt battery (I have never used anything but energizer 9 volts so please use caution when using other brands)
- 2 6" pieces of wire
- a soldering iron
- solder
- soldering flux
- 60 grit sand paper
- hot glue
- acid brush
- pliers

Lets get started!

Taking Apart the Battery

Start by taking apart the 9 volt battery do this by gently pinching the very top edges of the battery casing with the pliers until its close enough to the edge of the top connector plate so the metal can be carefully bent away. Once done remove the plate with the connector and discard of the battery. The edges of the battery case are sharp so be careful.

Now, strip and tin one end of each wire so it will make a better connection.

Next, take the connecting plate from the battery and sand the back until the connection have a gold ring going around them

Finally,  take the acid brush and apply a good amount of flux  to the contacts and them add solder until the hole in the center is covered it shouldn't  take that much. now solder the tinned ends of the wire to the contact pads on the back. Once you have done that you will have finished the 9 volt battery clip.

Optional Extra

Now to add a little extra support to the wires take and cover the back with hot glue to cover the wire. Another way would be to take electrical tape and cover the connections but this will add very little support and will have to be replaced after a little while of use.
