Flashlight
hello I am
Vanbrabant Kenny and I am a student at the high school Kortrijk in the
direction of industrial product design. And the task we had to make an existing
product again but in flat packed, after searching for cool products, I got the
idea to make a Flashlight. Because if you're going camping for example, and
you've always a big heavy flashlight that is not so obvious so I thought, let
prepare one that is pocketable and not too heavy to carry. So if you want to
also encourage self try the following steps and many have fun.
Supplies for the Electrical Part
What do you need.
- 12 white LEDs
- Resistance
- PCB
- Transistor
- Push button
- Battery
- Elekticiteitsdraad
Above you see the image that three C batteries are depicted but I replaced a Lithium- battery is equal to a heavy bateries but is less Lasts
Placing the LEDs
Okay let's start
in the images above is a picture where all sizes stand where the holes should be. At the large (2.5mm) circle you can see that there are nine holes should be ie every 40 ° and a hole in the small circle you see that need to be drilled 3 holes at 120 ° holes.
If you've done that you make a hole in the center (where the red oozing), there is the common thread and make a hole on the outside of the large circle for the blue wire (blue sphere)
Placing the Contacts
After we placed LED's we are now ready for the installation of the first contacts. take your 2nd board with you and make the holes for the resistance and the Transistor then you solder those returning to the circuit board. When that is done you turn the board over and solder the spring on the circuit board that cared for sure you get in touch with battery
Finishing and Testing
Then solder the blue wire is a different circuit where the resistance is and make you fix the red wire to the push button and test whether you have your light

Making the Circles
To make the circles have a certain diameter you need one piece MDF as required by 3cm diameter hole where the electronics comes in and about 3.5cm tall while also comes a slot where the glass rests in that groove is as deep as the thickness of your glass in addition you also need a bit of MDF and hole diameter: 2.5 cm where the glass comes back (so as to prevent the glass out vald) which piece may be high 2a3mm
Glass Cutting
To cut the glass, you need a cutter to do the careful wall you shoot vlig in addition, the diameter of the glass down feather 3.5cm
Assembly
During assembly, take the first piece where the electronics must be in it, place it in glass and paste the thinner piece of MDF with wood glue if that happened plug your electronics in the housing and close you off the rubber
Then you shed the remaining MDF way to a beautiful circle
Testing and Painting
Before I started painting, I cut the glass screen with adhesive tape so that no paint comes up then I painted it in black and finally I have tested everything in the dark with a good positive result.
