Finer Volume Control for T.v.
The Problem: my new t.v. has a digital volume control which is quite shaky, it's either LOUD or OFF
The Solution: adding a secondary analog volume control
The materials:
1. wire
2. solder
3. shrink tube
4. potentiometer (i used 1 Mohm good for my purposes but not ideal, should use around 100k)
The tools:
1. drill
2. screwdriver
3. soldering iron
4. wire cutters
5. lighter

Open T.v.
Turn off and unplug t.v. Use a screwdriver or a drill to remove the screws holding your t.v. case together, Discharge capacitors with screwdriver (be careful you can be dealing with thousands of volts even after the unit is unpluged) the current speaker circuit should look like the following:
Mofdifying Our Circuit
Be careful not to touch any unessesary components on the t.v.s mainboard in case they are still energized. Rewire circuit to look like the following, making sure to solder and shrink tube all your connections, (changes in red)
Mount Pot and Reassemble
drill a hole somewhere suitable in the case to mount the potentiometer, mount it so you can easily adjust it, reassemble case. (I chose to mount mine on the side as that is easiest for me)
You are now finished, assuming you completed the above steps correctly, enjoy being able to control your volume better!
