Easy Killswitch
This killswitch is easy to make and only costs $9.27!
It can be uses on any thing that uses a 1/4 phone jack.
What a kill switch does for those who do not know is when pressed it kills the sound. the button on the top is a momentary on switch that when pushed reroutes the signal to the ground thus shutting off the sound for as long as you hold down the button. By pressing the butting rapidly you can create some cool studdering effects.
I'm going to show you two ways to make the killswitch. One way is just a killswitch and the other has a added rocker switch. If you record guitar or and thing else you can flip the rocker switch over(killing the noise)so there is complete silence well you wait for you part to come up then you can flip it off to bring the sound back. This makes it so when you are waiting there is not the sound of you hitting the strings or any thing else.
If any thing does not make sence to you feel free to PM me with a question.
Credit for the idea to make a kill switch goes to Super Cameraman though I did modify it a bit

1 Install the switch in its hole, tighten the nut on the momentary switch.
2 Solder a wire connecting the two short posts on the jacks

4 solder wire go from the amp side jack(left)long post to the momentary switch and a wire go from the momentary switch to the shoter post on the amp side jack.
5 insert the two jacks in there holes and tighten the nut on(make sure the long post is not touching the bottem of the box because when you plug in you will bend the jack.)
With Rocker switch(pic two and three)

Mounting and Playing
To finish the project up lable the sides some how so you know where the guitar plugs in and where the amp plugs in.
You can mount this killswitch any where and you can take it off if you don't need it. I keep mine velcroed to my pedal board but you can mount it to your guitar or keyboard. Jest about any thing that uses a 1/4 phone jack you can use this killswitch.
I hope you have a blast making all kinds of weird noises with this and I would love to hear and see pictures about how it came out. If you liked my instructable please rate it.
