Welcome to the process of designing a 3D cupcake slicer. This design will be able to assist you into cutting batches into slices.

You'll be able to cut them with this tool, its can be used for others things maybe who knows!

You will need the following:

  • Cupcakes
  • 3D printer
  • A metal wire
  • Hot glue gun

One of the materials that we used to help make the (cup)cake slicer 3d wise was a metal wire. The wire is to be attached to the finished project once completed.

This is the main piece, the piece that will be used to help cut the slices

Designing

The first step is to design the holder on a digital software, we used onshape. We took after a design of a fruit peeler with the handle.

After the design process, make sure to print two pieces with the 3D printer. Which is the handle into two halves. Make sure it is not fragile.

Now that you got your pieces, make sure that they are the exact same. Make sure to clean up anything that doesn't look right which is the little strands leftover from the 3D printer.

First, pull a strand of metal wire out. Get a cutting board and cut a piece that perfectly fits the handle.

Now on one side, carefully apply the metal wire. Once applied, make sure it is on correctly and the wire is as straight as it can be.

Once applied, take the other side of the handle and use a hot glue gun to glue it together make sure the metal wire is still there
