Building a Underground Fort

       This fort i am going to be showing you how to build can be used for airsoft, or a kids plaly house. If you are yonger that 16 ask you parent befor doing this if your yunger than 11 you may need help with this ask parents for help 
       maerials you will need 
a shovel 
4 1 foot by 8 foot bords ( an inch thick )
2 2by4s  
a saw
some shingels
 hammer       
 nails     
      otional
bug spray
a small bucket 
raid
a thin 1 foot by 8 foot (half inch thick )
3 2inch rectandel blocks 
pacons in there sheel ( any nut will work but i like pecons

    Dig a hole with the blue prints in the picture. It might be kind of hard to fallo sorry about that when i started this instructable the fort had already been made ): sorry. just try your best to get it if your having trouble send me a privit mesage and i will try to get back to you. If i happen not to meseng you back find someone in your family who can reed it. I know its porely dun.   ( roll your mouse over it to find the measurements, the chart has it rong the orange is 3 feet and the brown is 2 feet ). If you need more space in your fort ad one foot to every measurrment exept the yelow measurement.
       put all the dirt of to the side in a pile you will be using it later. If there are any roots in the mane part of the hole that you dont want to cut out dig a little deeper to be able to get under them. Please dont make this neer a tree or you will have that problem. I know i did but dont make this neer a gas mane, the only reason i did was my mom whould'int let me dig anywhere else.  SAFTY FIRST if you live where the dirt is not that hard dets some bords to saport the sides.  I am not responsibl for any damages this fort causes but if you falow the instructions corecktly there wont be any damegas.

         Get your 4 7 foot planks and lay them over your hole ( the 7 feet by 4 feet part the mane part ). Make shore part of the edge of the first bord is on land next to the hole. Make shore you dont go past the 1 foot high part you will learn y  in the next step.  
        If you dont understand what im saying then look at the secont picture and roll your mouse over it to see ( ya i know its a bad     drawling ).
       Now that you have your mane roof on get your saw and cut your 2 by 4s APR 1 and 1/2 feet long. you need five of thease. put thease in the one foot area leaning agenst the mane roof ( see pic three ). Nail the 2 by 4s to the mane roof (still keep them slanted ) it dosent have to look preaty cus its going to get  cuverd up by dirt. Then get your roofing shingles and nail them to the 2 by 4s ( note you want the shingels to over lap ).  then your done.  Get your shingls and do the same with the mane roof, make shoure your nails arnt to long or else they will go threw the wood. This is the harrdest step if you have trouble send me a privit mesage if you leave a coment i will be less likely to reaspon but i will try anyways.

     Now get the dirt you have in your pile and put it over the roof about one inch high. You shold be able to stand and even jump on the roof with out it breaking ( note if you get more than 6 people jumping on the roof at the same time it will break ). Put dirt on the slanted part to till its at ground level, you shold not see any bords or shingles peaking out. The point of it being under ground is that it looks nicer than a shed. If you have a tarp lay it over the fort when your not in it.So if it rains water wont get in it.

if your building this for airsoft then with some of the dirt and build a small barerer in front of the entrance so as to help block bbs.

       About now it should look something like this ( look up ) scroll your mose over to see where some things are. You will see two light holes on the left side. Get a garden trawl to dig those ( if there to big water will get throuw if ther to small not that much light will come in make them a foot long if your doing the air prtectors make them half a foot long if your not ).

     air protecters ( see pic two ) put one block in the midel of the two air holes and one on each side. Then get your 1 foot by 8 foot half an inch hight bord and la it acros. Nail it in and then put shingels on it.  Have them laying over the edge and toching the ground then cut a hole in them over the air hole ( in pic where it says "opening" thats where the hole is ).     Itis recomended that you do this it helps keep water out and if you halve one put a tarp over it when not in use if water get in so do the bugs. Part 5 of this ible teaches you how to get rid of bugs if they come in and how to keep them from geting in.

           This in outside, under ground, and if your not carrfull wet, bugs LOVE it, i got bugs once and so you dont im going to tell you how to deal with them. first off you dont want to get bugs in the first place, so when the fort is compleat you want to take some bug killer and spray neer and in your fort YOU WANT TO WATE 3 DAYS BEFOR ENTERING YOUR FORT you dont want to breath in thows fumes. Read on the label of the can and make shore its not to toxic and read the warning label on it to. How to keep water out, i menchond this erler if you have a tarp put it over, if you dont have a tarp get some thing water profe sheat metal, thin wood somthing and cover the entrances. If it rains a lot where you live you need a tarp you might half to buy one but you need one. If you live where it hilly make your fort at the top of a hill so the water dranes down. if after you lay the tarp down i just fills up dig a small hole neer the inside corner put a pole in it and refill the hole lay the tarp over the pole and you will have a tepe tipe thing.
         If bug do get in then its probably wet in there wate till it dries up then look at the bugs if theres spiders in there dont get them out yet. Spiders kill outher bugs so wate till there are only spiders in ther then kill them ( spray it with bug spray again. If there are no spiders in there spray it out.

help full tips
1 dont let leavs get in bugs feed on leavs
2 dont keep any food down there unless its seald 
3 if you eat down there and theres crums get them out 
4 if it gets so overwelming beery the fort and re build the fort ( save your materials i had to do this once )
5 dont not do this cus your scarred of bugs if you fallow the steps i give you there wont be any bugs 
6 if you have bad alerges dont do this  
7 if you see termites eating the wood take the mane roof of and get a new one also spry for termites if the wood gose so dose the dirt above it

       get a clear plastic box and a hand trowl dig a cut out in the wall just big enofe for the box to fit in. this is your own project feel free to modify it. ( ;   

       My fort dose not have a door but i was planing on one and here was my plan. get some hinghges and a 2  foot by 2 foot sheet of ply wood.put the two hinges on the bord over the water blocker and nail the ply wood to the hinges making shore the hinges bent up. The botom of the plywood should tochthe water blocker.
