In honor of pi day, I made this nutella, banana, and vanilla custard pie for the instructables office!

Crust:

2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (~1.5 sleeves)
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup mashed banana (1/2 banana)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted

-blend graham crackers, sugar, butter, and banana in food processor
-spread crust in a pie pan and let sit in the freezer for about 30min (preheat oven to 350)
-bake crust in oven for ~15 min until it begins to brown and let cool
-spread about 1/2 a jar of nutella on the bottom and sides of the crust and set in refrigerator until custard is ready

Custard
3 cups whole milk
8 large egg yolks
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1  vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients (except milk and vanilla) in a bowl, and whisk
Heat milk and vanilla on medium heat until hot but not boiling
Add 1 cup of hot milk to egg yolk mixture and whisk
Add egg mixture back to the hot milk and bring the mixture just up to a bubble- it will thicken to a pudding consistency
Remove from heat and let cool

When cool, alternate the custard with layers of sliced bananas.
Chill and serve
