What you need to make zipper bracelets are...

  • a 24" fashion separating zipper
  • a sheet of colored felt
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors

Make the Bracelet

First, make your bracelet by wrapping it around your wrist and cut where it overlaps. Make sure you have enough room as you do this to slip over your wrist. From there, glue the two pieces together so that the teeth are shown on the edges.

Add Felt

Now, you're going to cut a piece of felt the same length as your zipper pieces and glue that to the top of the zipper. Then, once you've finished that step, you're going to glue the ends of the zipper together into a bangle.

Add Buckle

Now, to make the buckle, cut two 2-1/2" strips of zipper and attach the sides together so that the teeth are on the outside. Then, wrap it around the end of the bangle, where you last glued the ends. This will be the buckle and the base for where you're going to place your flower.

Make the Flower

Now, you're ready to make the flower. Cut a wavy, circular shape of felt. Then, starting at any point, begin cutting a spiral, following the outline of the wavy circle.

From there, start at the center tab and roll the felt around the center to create a flower. Then, periodically add dabs of glue for it to stay in place.

Finally, glue the flower to the bangle bracelet.

Ready to Wear

Now, it's ready to wear around your wrist! This is a fun gift idea and accessory for any fashionista, and you can make more of these bangle bracelets in a variety of colors and sizes! The trick here is to make sure that the lightest colors go on top of the more bolder colors, or if you're using bolder colors for zippers, make sure you use lighter colors so that they pop out!

Tip: You can even add some rhinestones or beads to the middle of the flowers for a more bedazzled, 3-D effect!
