Take a white paper.
Then, decide the way in which you want to arrange your zipper.
After deciding that, put the zipper over paper and mark out that area with a pencil as shown.
Now, decide the image you want to draw on the inner side of paper and on the outer two sides.
As I am going to do a simple scenery, so I am not drawing anything in detail.

I have used soft pastels here, so I am also going to describe its technique, but it is completely your choice of what colours to use in background.
First, take the shades of orange and yellow and start colouring from top of page with orange colour and then gradually shift towards yellow shades.
While using soft pastels, note that you apply the colour to the paper with appropriate pressure.
Don't try to fill the gaps with colour, because they will be filled when colours are smudged!!
Now, for blending colours, you can use a cotton cloth or even a piece of cotton, but I am preferring to use my hands for blending colours because that gives the best result!!
Then, take the blue shades and also paint the inside part.
After that, apply white soft pastel colour randomly over both the parts (orange-yellow part and blue part).
Then smudge it a bit to create the clouds.
Now, take a marker and draw a tree on one side as shown. You can draw as many trees as you want!
Now, apply the coat spray on the paper, so that the soft pastel's dust won't get displaced.

Attaching the Zipper

Apply glue on the paper where the zip is to be attached.
Cut out the extra parts of zipper, so that it perfectly fits.
Now place it carefully over glued paper surface.
And our artisitic piece is ready!!

You can also do this same thing with other metaphorical artwork like black colour on the two sides and galaxy opening when the zip opens (that is painting of galaxy on the inner side of zipper).
