Yummy Stewed Pumpkin
Hello everyone, I'm Helen
I'd like to say that I adore pumpkin because this is one of the most common and multipurpose vegetables. I know a bunch of recipes where pumpkin is the main ingredient. You can make sweetened or salt courses with it or even drinks.
In this instructable, I'm going to share with you one of my favorite and easy peasy, healthy, and tasty recipe of stewed pumpkin with creamy garlic sauce.
Note: For this recipe, I'd recommend using a butternut pumpkin. This sort of pumpkins is very soft, contains no streaks, very bright color, and nice taste.
Supplies
- Large pan with a lid
- Knife
- Cutting board
Ingridients
* ≈800g pumpkin
* ≈400g onion
* 20g garlic
* 50g oil
* 200ml ultra-pasteurized cream 33% fat
* salt and pepper (according to your taste)
Chopping and Cutting
Peel and clean the pumpkin from the seeds. Cut the pumping on cubes with approx 2 cm (1 inch) side.
Peel the onion and cut it on the half rings.
Stewing
Preheat the pan on med fire and pour the oil into it.
Put the onion and fry it until it'll be softened.
Add pumpkin to the pan and mix.
Add the pinch of salt with pepper (depends on your taste preference) and mix. Cover the pan with a lid, leave for ≈15 minutes on med fire and mix a couple of times.
Note: You have to stew the pumpkin until it becomes soft, total time depends on the pumpkin cubes size.
Finish Cooking
Take garlic and chop it. Once pumpkin will be ready, add the chopped garlic, cream, and mix. Continue stewing it for 5 more minutes.
Serve
Pumpkin cooked by this recipe could be served as standalone, with rice, pasta, or topped on toasts.
Bon appetite.
Happy cooking!!!
Kind regards,
Helen
