In this tutorial you will learn how to get, print, cut out and glue your 1st paper model.
We will work with FIXED SIZED model (we will not resize / scale it).

You should know following before you start:
1.] What is Pepakura and how to start
2.] How to use Pepakura Viewer

Continue if you have all the info you need ;)

Updated: 2013/01/13 ... 3 hours of work so far :)

Download modified CUBE file:
http://www.4shared.com/file/lKpZ3fmT/CubeInParts.html

Instead of 1 piece of paper I divided it into 6 parts.
More sides to glue = better practice !

Open your file in Pepakura Viewer.
Hit keys "Ctrl + O" ... OR ... File > Open ... or ... Drag&Drop it onto Pepakura window !

Edge ID + Zoom in :)

START
Be sure to turn on View > Show Edge ID !
Adds numbers to your paper, which helps :)

DO SOMETHING
Scroll: zoom in to see what you need (MouseWheel).
Rotate model: both views LeftClick + hold + move OR RightClick + hold + move
Move model / paper: push + hold your MouseWheel + move mouse (or RightClick in 3D view)

Print, Cut

Use CARDSTOCK paper = HEAVY, THICK = 200 g/m² at least !

Now is time to print.
A.] you can directly from Pepakura viewer
B.] or you can convert your PDO file to PDF and print from other printer

Get your tools to work with !

Take your paper, cut out bigger pieces using scissors.
Choose some smaller piece and finish its details, edges with hobby knife.
Fold that paper edges as they tell you by type of line printed on.

Glue It

Take your parts, look at flaps on paper where you should have EDGE ID number !

If you have no numbers printed, look in Pepakura Viewer.
Hover over edges with mouse to see connection where to glue = 1st screenshot !

Be patient, take your time, use less glue than more (always better).
Do few parts, set aside, do more, get some shapes, glue them all together.

And eventually you can glue together your first model ever = CUBE !
Or you can go more complex and glue helmet and blaster like I did :)

Awesome right ?
