How to make: Branding Iron

Video will give you a good overview on how to create a Branding Iron. But the following steps will still contain some extra useful information.

Prepare Template and Aluminium

First you have to make a gcode of your stamp. To make my stamp I used ArtCam software. Next, find good material and start milling. Dimensions of my aluminium block: 20x40x70 mm.

First, I made a perfect flat surface (6mm 2 Flute End Mill). Next, 2mm End Mill and V Bit 60 degree to finish stamp. When stemp was ready, I rotated the aluminium block to cut out stamp. Afterwards, 3mm drill bit to make hole and 6mm End Mill to make pockets.

Improving Stamp

I removed excess of aluminium on the belt sander and cut the metric M8 thread. Additionally you can use sandpaper to improve edges and surfaces.

Handle

I used file handle to my branding iron and long screw to connect handle with stamp. Just cut a head of the screw and connect all together.

Heat and Burn - Finish
