So you've met the love of your life and you are ready to get married. You discover that you both grew up playing with dinosaurs! And that your parents have saved your collection in a box in the closet!! You both have that DYI spirit so get busy and decorate your own Jurassic Wedding Cake!

Gather Up Your 25 Year Old Dinosaurs, a Matte Knife and a Small Drill.

Rinse off your dusty beloved dinosaurs, dry.

Draw a rectangle across the back of the dinosaur as a cutting guide. Don't go any lower then the hips.

Make sure and point the matte knife away from your fingers.

REMEMBER, SOON YOU'RE GOING TO PUT RINGS ON THOSE FINGERS!!

Press down and slice across the dino's back.

Lift up the shape, remove and recycle the plastic scrap.

*You will need to drill a hole in the stomach area of the dino. This prevents the succulents from drowning or going moldy.

Take a Trip to Your Overgrown Succulent Garden and Clip Off a Few Young Stems.

Now comes the fun part.

Look around the garden for some small young shoots on your succulent plants and cut.

Make sure that you have some special soil for palm and cactus mix. Fill your dino 3/4 full.

Get a chop stick from your take out dinner (as you have both been too busy creating to cook).

Now pick out one of the small succulents that you have cut and place them in the hole made by chopstick.

Make another hole and add more succulents. Then secure in place with additional soil.

Water thoroughly and let drain. You don't want the dinosaurs "going pee" on your wedding cake.

Get Your Table Set and Invite Some Friends to Join in the Celebration

What is a great Wedding celebration without friends and relatives?!

Fill up another 5 or 6 dinos with succulents depending on the size of your cake.

Now It Is Time to Pick Out the Bride's and the Groom's Cake and Add Something Old

You have agreed on everything so far. But now you must choose the cake flavor.

Well it looks like there is a standoff.

Why not go with one of each: a princess cake for the Bride and a coconut cake for the Groom?

Now you are happy again but the parents seem to have some ideas to add as well.

One set of parents has managed to save their 45 year old cake topper and plastic wedding couple.

Go for it but make it yours! Use your favorite dinosaurs to represent the bride and the groom.

Grab that lace veil from the plastic bride figure and put it on your dino.

Put the cakes on top of each other and add the dino friends around the bottom and a few extra succulents here and there.

Now You Are Married and the Best Man/Dino Can't Wait to Get to the Cake!

Your table looks beautiful. The dinosaurs have done a great job celebrating your love with a Jurassic theme.

The dinos are so happy to get out of the boxes after all these years.

But they are all tired of being patient, especially the Best Man/Dino.

LET THEM EAT CAKE!!!

Enjoy this unique, quick and easy way to help make your day special!
