How to Make a Pencil Holder

In this instructable, you will learn how to make a pencil holder using plaster.

In order to make the hexagon first draw a circle of 5 cm in diameter with a compass on a sheet of polypropylene, then with the same length make marks around the whole circle, now link all of the marks.

First, measure an angle of 80 degrees from the corner of a side and draw a 12 cm line at this angle, then do the same thing for the other corner, link the end of both lines together, repeat those steps 8 times.

Use a cutter and a ruler to cut out the net.

Tape the sides of the net together in order to create an upside-down pyramid, make sure that all gaps are covered by tape, then tape 3 magnets on every two sides using double-sided tape.

In order to make the core repeat steps 1-4 but this time with a circle of 3 cm diameter.

Add 3 cup of plaster powder and 2 cups of water to a bucket, and stir until the mixture is homogeneous.

Pour the plaster in the mould, then position the core inside the mould in the centre and with the sides parallel to the sides of the mould.

Using a cutter cut the tape in order to open the mould, then pull out the core.

Sand the edges, sides and inside until all sides are smooth.

Now you are all done, you can now put your pencil and erasers inside your new pencil holder.
