Today I am going to show you how you can make an easy healthy breakfast using this amazing tool.

Moong dal cheela is a popular and nutritious Indian pancake made from soaked and ground moong dal (yellow split gram). Its a savoury dish, often served as a breakfast or snack, packed with protein, fiber, and essential nutrients. This Indian pancakes is versatile and can be customized with various feelings like cottage cheese, vegetables, or herbs. This dish is not only delicious but also a healthy alternative to traditional pancakes, making it a favourite among health-conscious food lovers.

  1. Mixer Grinder
  2. 1 cup yellow split gram
  3. 2-3 green chillies
  4. 1-inch piece of ginger
  5. 7-8 curry leaves
  6. Salt according to your taste
  7. Water for soaking and grinding
  8. Cottage cheese and Onion (For filling)
  9. oil

Prepare the Batter:

  1. Wash the yellow split gram thoroughly and soak it in water for about 4-5 hours or overnight.
  2. After soaking, drain the water and transfer the split gram to a mixer grinder.
  3. Add green chillies, curry leaver, ginger, and salt. Grind the mixture into a smooth, thick batter, adding water as needed.
  4. Set the batter aside for 10-15 minutes to rest.

Make the Pancake or “cheela”:

  1. Heat a nonstick or cast iron pan on medium heat and grease it lightly with oil.
  2. Once hot, pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a circular shape, similar to a pancake.
  3. Cock for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip the pancake.
  4. Cock the other side for another 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

Assemble the Pancake With Cottage Cheese and Onion:

  1. Place a portion of the prepared cottage cheese and onion on one side of the pancake.
  2. Fold the pancake in half to cover the filling.
  3. Serve immediately with yogurt.


TIPS:

  1. You can add your favorite vegetables, such as spinach, carrots, capsicum, or tomatoes, to the filling for added nutrition.
