Xiaomi Smart Fan 2 Pro Beeper Removal

The Xiaomi Smart Fan 2 Pro is nice and quiet, exept for that annoying beeping sound when you press a button... Sure you can connect your fan to the wifi to turn of that sound, or you can just removing the annoying little beeper. Here's how:

1. Philipps head screwdriver
2. Small flathead screwdriver
3. Soldering iron
4. Zipties (optional)
5. Pliers or tweezers
6. 20minutes of your time

Just follow the steps from the manual in the reverse order: Manual

Remove these four screws, and slide off the housing

Remove these three screws and take of the hinge, make sure not to loose the nuts sitting in the plastic shell. On the other side of the hinge is just a plastic axle that you can pop out. Be carefull not put tension on the cables.

then remove the two marked plug by pushing on the clips with pliers or tweezers and gently pull them out.

Unplug the motor cable by pressing on the little clip. (there is a window at the front providing access) Slide it through the opening in the housing and cut the ziptie holding the ferrite (the black cylinder around the motor cable)

To remove the circuit board from the housing, remove the two screws holding it in and gently pry away the four clips holding it in place. The beeper has two legs sticking through the circuit board, heat them up with the soldering iron until the beeper falls out.

Except the beeper of course you can use that to build something annoying... and dont forget to ziptie the ferrite core back where it was.
