Xbox One Turtle Beach XO Four Mic Fix
The microphone plug on my XO Four headset broke. So I went ahead and made a quick fix for it. This is my first Instructables. Hope it helps anyone with similar problems or anyone who is looking to mod their headset.
Removing the Ear Cushions.
To get the ear cushions off just use any small tool to pry them. I used a small flathead screwdriver. Carefully pull the cushion out.
Removing the Speaker Cover.
Remove the 4 phillip screws on the ear cover and pull it gently. There are small cable attached to the speaker that can easily be broken. They can be soldered back on but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Trouble That I Ran Into.
Here is where it got complicated for me. I couldn't solder the mic plug back onto the small audio board so I decided to integrate a small condeser mic that would sit where the old mic plug was.
Soldering the Mic.
1. Identify the positive and negative sides of the condeser mic.
2.Use 2 small wires to connect them to the mic. I used cable from an old audio cable.
3.Solder the cable to the microphone. ( Sorry for the sloppy soldering, I'm not very skilled)

Identifying the Audio Cable Wires.
The audio cable is the cable that plugs into the control or headset adapter.

Solder the Mic to the Audio Cable.
The yellow mark on the picture is the condenser mic. I wrapped it up with electrical tape to make it fit tightly into the old mic plug spot.
1. Solder the positive wire from the mic to the mic wire from the audio cable. In my case the (+) from the mic is red.
2. Solder the negative (- or ground) wire from the mic to all the other negatives.

2. Solder the negative (- or ground) wire from the mic to all the other negatives.
In Case You Pulled the Cable From the Speaker.
If you accidentally pulled the wires from the speaker here is a pic to tell you how they go.

Finished Product
Now my XO Four Headset has an integrated microphone instead of the mic plug.
I used a small piece of foam like cloth to cover the speak. Making it look original.
Make sure all your connections are right before putting everything back together. It wont mess up the headset but you wont like to disassemble everything again.
