X8R0241 Anti-Intrusion Internal Van Rear Door Lock Mechanism




The problem
Many people are looking to convert their vans into mobile camping units where safety is of course a top concern.
There is currently no effective way of locking the rear doors from the inside of the van, meaning that the van could potentially be opened form outside whilst people are inside.
Symptoms of the fault
Low internal security when being used as a camper van.
Only one locking mechanism on the OEM doors.
Vehicles affected
Fiat Ducato (2006-2014)
Peugeot Boxer (2006-2014)
Citroen Relay (2006-2014)
Compatible with all models with H1 and H2 roof height.
Citroen rear door part numbers: left: 8702 A3, 16 216 821 80. Right: 8703 A5, 16 813 185 80
Our solution
Install our internal van door lock to allow for quick and easy locking from inside.
Our solution fits onto the existing components on the van door, meaning that you will not have to damage your existing van doors in any way to install our product.
The brackets are made from high grade marine stainless steel, meaning they are resistant to weathering.
The finish of the product is brushed stainless steel and sports our company’s “X” logo which will keep the interior of your van looking stylish.
Our product will contain a quick release locking pin; however it is compatible with most off-the-shelf padlocks if you wish to use your own.
You will receive
- 1 x Left hand side door locking plate
- 1 x Right hand side door locking plate
- 1 x Quick release locking pin
- 2 x Isopropyl alcohol wipes
Supplies
You will need a T40 Torx driver.
Clean and Prepare the Surface

Before you remove any parts, use the alcohol wipes provided to remove any grease or debris from the working area.
This will help to ensure a true fit.
Remove the Fitted Screws

Using a T40 Torx driver, remove the 6 Torx screws that secure the door latch frames.
Clean Underneath the Latch Frames

Now that the latch frames are loose, wipe away any build up of dirt between the door and the steel latch frames.
Loosely Install the Door Lock Brackets


Now that the surface is prepared, loosely install the new parts, these will reuse the original screws.
Be sure to leave them loose at this point so that you can line them up and tighten them later on.
Line Up and Tighten the Brackets

Now you can line up the brackets so that the protruding tabs are parallel and at the same height.
You can now tighten the screws to fasten them in place.
Test for Fitment and Install the Locking Pin


Now that the brackets are installed and tightened, you can now test for suitable fitment. to ensure that the brackets are in the correct position.
