X-MAS Decor

WhatsApp Image 2022-12-09 at 22.46.33.jpeg

I made a Christmas Town Decor that can be placed under a Christmas Tree. My inspiration came from my sister who is excited to celebrate this Christmas holiday. So I wanted to make her a toy that she can have on display and play around with. The project took a total of 48 hours and most of my effort went into building the perfect box and creating 3-D prints and laser cutting the Christmas tree.

Get the measurement of the build you are going for and make a box with an eclipse cut out on the top and a rectangle on the side. Make it out of cardboard first to ensure the design works well with your build idea.

Laser Cut the Tree

You can find multiple templates online for the tree to laser cut. I got mine from the maker space at my University who had already made some for me.

Hot Glue

First, hot Glue the box together. Then, hot Glue an elevated surface using a box. Then the servo on top of that box. Then a platform on top of the servo. And finally, the tree on top of all of it coming out of the eclipse hole. Hot glue the strands on the outside of the box in random places.

3D Print

3D Print figurines to put in front of your Christmas Tree box for a decorative town effort. I printed a little Santa and a reindeer. I was able to find a template that worked best with my project.

Paint the box first in a decorative holiday style. Then paint the figurines to your likings.

Gluing

Using Mod Podge, glue glitter to the tree. Glue cotton balls to the platform. Then throw around sprinkles.

Use a small breadboard to assemble all your devices that need to be powered and make sure that the wires don't entangle and sort.
