Write Your Name in 2-Point Perspective

Hey guys,
In this Instructable I will teach you how to write your name (or a word/words) in 2-point perspective. I learnt how to do this in art class, and I thought it was so cool I had to share it with everyone! It's pretty easy to do, so you'll probably take 2-3 attempts to master it. Without further ado, let's start! (Sorry for the bad quality pics :/ )

Supplies

You will need:

A pencil (tip: 6B is very dark, 6H is very light)

An eraser

A ruler

Coloured pencils (optional)

A piece of paper (I used A4)

Lines

Draw a vertical line and a horizontal line. Tip: Lightly fold the paper in half for a guide. Look at the picture for more information.

Dots

Put 4 dots on the lines, 2 on the vertical and 2 on the horizontal. Look at the picture. Tip: The further away the dots on the horizontal line, the more stretched the word will be horizontally, and vice versa.

Join the Dots

Join the dots like in the picture. It's as easy as it sounds.

Plan

Write the word/your name lightly so you know where the letters are going to go. This will prevent you going, "Oops, out of space. I have to start again..." halfway through the drawing.

Drawing the First Letter (R for Me)

Now for the tricky part. Write an R (or whatever letter you need) in block letters. But wait! For the vertical parts of the shape, draw them vertically. Here's the catch. For the parts of the shape that are not vertical, you will need to go with the perspective. (I don't exactly know how to say that, so) Put the tip of your pencil on the dot to the left to act as a pivot. Pivot the ruler and draw a line (look at the second picture to see what I mean). As you can see, the bottom and top of the letter is tilted with the line that connects the dots.

Just a few pictures of me finishing off the letters. Remember the perspective! Pivot with the ruler!

Erasing

Erase the lines that join the dots, but don't erase the top and bottom of the letters! Erase the dots on the vertical line, you won't be needing them. Don't erase the dots on the horizontal line though, we'll need them later. Check the second picture. (But why, in the first pic, did I include the eraser? Lol?)

3D (Optional)

Hm, I don't think I took enough pictures for this. Anyway, if you don't know how to basically draw 3D on shapes, learn how to, and come back once you have the idea. If you know how, lets get into it!
Okay, you're going to draw 3D on these shapes. This is where the dots you didn't erase come in. For R, E and D, I will use the dot on the right; and for K, I, N and G, I will use the dot on the left. Uh, I can't really explain exactly what to do, so study the pictures.

Decoration (Optional)

I'm going to leave the decorating to you. You could shade/colour in the 3D bits or put polka dots on the letters. Once again, I'm going to leave it to you.
Please tell me if I haven't added enough detail, and hopefully you will understand version 2.0!
