World's Most Compact Key Organizer

I just hated putting a fat key chain in my pants pocket. Not to mention the annoying sound they make when you walk. So a couple of years ago I came up with this idea and now I'm sharing with you the latest version that I use today. I hope you like it.

This project can be done on keys with a plastic head like the ones you see in the picture and also on the keys which are made out of one piece of metal. So I started by heating the keys metal part using a heat gun to remove the plastic caps, In case you are dealing with one-piece metal keys you have to cut them, as you see I did cut these plastic ones too.

I start drilling a 4mm hole on each key for the bolt. After putting all the keys together I inserted an M4 bolt through them and tightened the nut just by the force of my hand so the keys easily move.

Then drilled a hole through the nuts and bolt together and inserted a brass pin in the hole and hammered it from both ends so the nut won't move or become loose. That's a very important part of this project because if you lose this nut you will lose your keys.

So here is the final result. It is obvious that the size of the keychains has significantly reduced. So next time you feel the bulkiness of your keys you might wanna consider this solution.
