I kept seeing things online for making a work belt for babies and I wanted to make one for my nephew but I also wanted to add a diaper cover to it. So this is what I came up with. Just a rough draft of it that I used to make it. If you find any errors please let me know and I will adjust it. So far he does not fit it so once it fits him I will let you all know what size it is when completed.

I used a size G hook for everything.

Belt

Brown

Row 1: Ch 46. Turn.

Row 2: Dc in second Ch from hook and in each Ch till end. (45) Turn

Row 3: DC in each Dc and then around the side and back around in other loops of ch to beginning ch.

Finish off.

Tool Holsters-Large

Brown

Row 1: Ch 11 turn.

Row 2: DC in second ch from hook and then every ch across (10)

Row 3-11: DC in each DC across (10)

Stitch in a loop so belt can be put through.

Alternate would be:

Rnd 1: Ch 11 then sl st in first ch to form a loop. Be careful not to twist the chain.

Rnds 2-11: DC in every st around (10)

This alternate one will make it so you don't have to stitch it into a loop.

Tool Belt -Small (Make 4)

Brown

Row 1: Ch 8 turn.

Row 2: DC in second ch from hook and then across (7)

Row 3-11: DC in each st across. (7)

Stitch in a loop so belt can be put through.

Alternate would be:

Rnd 1: Ch 8 then sl st in first st. Careful not to twist the chain.

Rnd 2-11: DC around (7)

Stitch 2 together so they form a loop and a holster.

Stitch the other two to the large one from previous step to make 2 holsters on that loop.

SC around each to make them pretty.

Diaper Cover

Blue

Row 1: Ch 16. Turn.

Row 2-8: DC in next ch and across (15)

Row 9: 2 DC in first st, DC next 13 st, 2 DC in last st. (17)

Row 10: 2 DC in first st, DC next 15 st, 2 DC in last st. (19)

Row 11: 2 DC in first st, DC next 17 st, 2 DC in last st. (21)

Row 12: 2 DC in first st, DC next 19 st, 2 DC in last st. (23)

Row 13-15: DC in each st across (23)

Should be a total of 14 rows of DC.

Finishing

Stitch Tool belt to the top of the diaper cover. Add buttons in appropriate spots. Stitch holsters onto belt. Sc around to make pretty.

I also added some stitching to the Diaper cover part to make it look like it had pockets and a fly. Adding those makes it really look like a pair of jeans. I did my stitching in Brown not only to match the belt but to make it look more like real jeans. I also added Belt Loops that are optional as the belt is stitched to the diaper cover, but again, adds to the look. I made them with a row of Ch sts a few chs longer than the belt is wide. I then added a belt buckle for more authentic look. If I remember right I did a chain the same length as the belt loops then added enough to loop over the belt and around to the beginning ch. Then I turned it and Sc around leaving just enough to sit under the belt. For the latch of the belt buckle I just added a series of chains and then Sc down the one side and attached it to the buckle. I poked that through the belt and then stitched it to the buckle. It doesn't move but I have a button under it that attaches to the belt. I did not keep track of any of those sts so I cannot tell you specifics on making those additional pieces. I gave it to my sister-in-law and it has since then sat with all the stuff that is still too big for the baby. If he ever fits into it I will count those sts for you all.
