Wooden Trays

I have made 2 wooden trays for home uses. They can be used for whatever you like, got a hot bowl or need something to sit stuff on? A tray is useful for those kind of things.

For this project I used 3 machines and a few other things, I used a Miter Saw, CNC Machine, Sander. I also used Polyurethane, Red Wood Stain, Propane Torch, Brushes, Rag, Air Compressor, and Steel Wool.

I used the Miter Saw to cut 2 pieces of wood, the sizes of the wood is 13 3/8 in length and 7 1/4 in width.

Sanding Wood

I sanded both boards of wood to round the corners out for the trays.

Burning 1 Board

I used a Propane Torch to burn one board before putting them in the CNC Machine.

I put both boards in the CNC Machine to dig out the inside area for the tray so they can be used to hold stuff.

Burning Second Board

I burnt the second board after it got out of the CNC Machine to give them different looks.

Staining and Polyurethane

I stained one board red and started to put the Polyurethane on the other board. I put 4 layers of Polyurethane on both boards to protect them and make easier to clean if dirty. I used brushes and a rag to spread the stain on one board to make it look nice and clean. I then used another brush to put the Polyurethane on both boards to protect them and make smooth.

Steel Wool and Air Compressor

After the Polyurethane got done drying for both boards, I then used steel wool to smooth them out like glass so it wasn't rough and bumpy. I then used an Air Compressor to blow off the steel wool to clean the trays off then they were ready to be used.
