  • Slate

Using your yellow spray paint and T&G flooring, spray it yellow, and allow it to dry.

Creating the White Stripe

Next, add two pieces of painter's tape in a thin line to the middle of your board, spray paint it white, and let it dry.

Creating the Black Stripe

Once the white paint dries, remove the current tape and add two more pieces of tape in a thicker stripe, spray paint it black, and let it dry.

Slate Helmet

While the base of our project dries, grab your slate piece, a hammer, and a chisel and begin to shape the slate into a helmet.

Once that is completed, take your acrylic paint and begin painting on the Steeler's emblem to the helmet as seen in the pictures above and allow it to dry.

Wooden Cap Frame

Next, grab your wooden cap and coping saw and start cutting it into two 11 1/2 pieces and two 13 3/4 pieces and spray paint them black.

While that dries, take your chain and hooks and spray paint them black as well and let it dry.

Glue Together the Pieces

Take your dry T&G flooring, wooden cap pieces, slate, and wood glue and assemble all the pieces together and give them time to fully dry.

Add Chain and Hooks
