Wooden Natural Edge Shelf

Hello everyone, in this project I wanna show you how to make a Wooden Natural Edge Shelf. I made video and step by step instruction how to make it. This shelf is very easy to make, cheap and look very orginal.
Half year ago I was in a forest on walk. I found this chunk of a wood, and I took it. Probably this is a waste after trees cutting. Then it was very wet, but now after 6 months is dry and ready for processing.

So, let's get started :)

Materials:

- Chunk of wood

Tools:

- Sandpaper
- Wood file
- Hand saw
- Wood varnish

Video will give you a good overview on how to create such a rocker Wooden Natural Edge Shelf. But the following steps will still contain some extra useful information.

Remove all dust and contamination from wood. To do this i used brush, wire brush and compressed air. To align a surface I used belt sander.

For easier mount shelf to wall I made 3 handles. Handles are made with beech wood on cnc machine. After cutting I used belt sander to improve edges.

To make pockets use hand saw, chisel and wood file. Next, drill holes in handles and shelf and screw them together.

Remove excess of wood and unscrew handles. Paint shelf and handles. To paint i used clear and brown varnish.

This is the last step. Drill holes in wall and screw shelf to wall. Screws which will you use are depend on the type of wall. In my house, walls are made of gypsum board, so I used the special screws to this.

Wooden Natural Edge Shelf is completely finished :)
