What is a Fanous

Fanous or Fanoos (meaning "lamp" or "light"), also widely known as Fanous Ramadan is a folk and traditional lantern used to decorate streets and homes in the month of Ramadan. With their origins in Egypt, they have since spread across the Muslim world and are a common symbol associated with the holy month.

In this instructable, I will show you how to make a simple decorative Fanous

Supplies

Tools:

1. craft knife
2. white glue
3. scissors
4. sandpaper

Materials:

1. Coffee stirrers
2. Colored match sticks
3. Transparent plastic sheet

Cutting Off the Sticks

Start with cutting off the coffee stirrer according to the pattern then hold it with a paper clip

Building the Sides

Cut off the Transparent plastic sheet then Glue the Colored match sticks on it then Attach the Transparent sheet to the wooden frame

Glue the 6 sides together as shown and hold it together with Temporary duct tape and Assemble the three parts as shown
