Wooden Drinking Coasters

Hello everyone!

In this instructables I'll show you how you can make some beautiful wooden drinking coasters out of different wood species.

Let's get started!

Preparing the Wood

We'll start by cutting the different types of wood in the right proportions.

If you are using reclaimed lumber, you need to plane of the finish.

Start cutting strips for the coasters, with these dimensions:
- 27mm wide, 2 times
- 15mm wide, 2 times
- 9mm wide, 1 time

The Glue-up

Let's glue all the strips together, I'm using wood glue.

Plane it down to 6mm thickness.

It's easier to sand the most of the coasters smooth before you cut them in pieces.

The coasters are 93mm wide, so I'll cut them 93mm long. My stock was long enough to make 8 coasters.

Now it's time to sand the edges and corners.

To finish the coasters I'm using some spray lacquer.
