Wooden Boy Scout Patches
These are some patches that I made for the six month reunion for a Boy Scout course called Woodbadge.
Instead of cloth, they are made out of 1/4" plywood from Home Depot.
Everyone enjoys a personalized patch!

The the Wood to a Uniform Size
The key to making this work is to cut the wood to a uniform size, then draw that same size box in Corel Draw.
You need two corel files -- one with the front, and the second with the art for the back. All you need to do is to make sure that the art is centered within the square.
When you turn it over, you can engrave the back and it will match perfectly with the front.
The last thing to do is to make the cut line for the shape.

Engrave the Backs and Finish With Spray Lacquer
After you do the fronts, flip the wood over and make sure that it is in the upper left corner.
Run the engraving for the back and also do the cut for the arrow shape.
All that's left to do is to finish with a couple of coats of spray lacquer on each side.
