Wooden Base for a Bed

IMG_2255.jpeg

In this guide, we will build a bed base made of wood and legs made of galvanized iron.

The construction of the frame requires a basic knowledge of carpentry and the use of tools, and the construction of the legs requires a basic knowledge of Welding.

The Supplies are separated into parts. And you are welcome to change the design and upload a picture here in the comments or chose to build only the frame or only the legs, which are detailed in separate parts

This is the final result.

The design is inspired by a similar bed I saw on Pinterest.

  1. Mark a vertical line across the pine wood about 13 centimeters from both ends
  2. Cut the pine wood in half along the length of the wood with the help of the saw, from the edge of the pine wood to the line
  3. Mark an X as in the picture between the edge of the pine wood and the line you drew
  4. Drill a hole at the meeting point of the X's
  5. Paint the wood with the first layer of varnish
  6. Assemble the bed frame
  7. Align with a protractor or x-measure and make sure the bed is straight
  8. spray the nuts and the upper and lower edges of the Stainless Steel Threaded Rod Full-Thread Bar
  9. screw the nuts on the screw rod, you can use one long Stainless Steel Threaded Rod Full-Thread Bar and cut it or use 4 small Stainless Steel Threaded Rod Full-Thread Bar
  10. Paint with varnish again

Building the Legs

weld the legs, starting with the short 170 bar at the bottom.

  1. Connect the 2 25-centimeter long bars to it on both sides with a 100-degree angle between them. use a Welding power supply the weld all of the pieces.
  2. Connect the top bar above them with the Welding power supply.
  3. In the sides of each leg. connect a Strike Counter Plate with the Welding power supply
  4. Paint the legs with black spray paint.

Build the second leg in the same way

*you can choose to use or make different legs for the base. I chose this design because I wanted the bed to look floating above the floor

Connecting Legs to the Base

  1. Connect the aluminum angle with screws along the 4 sides of the frame from the inside. aligned to the bottom of the frame
  2. Place the sandwich plate on the aluminum corners and mark circles every 10-20 centimeters
  3. Drill circular holes in the plywood to ventilate the mattress
  4. place your mattress
