This is how to make a wood book cover

Supplies

Wood sheet

Access to a laser cutter or woodworking skills

Paper

String

The glue of your choice

Sewing Kit

Design

Step One:

Make a design composed of four rectangles, in the size of your desired book and make two of each the exact same size. With these rectangles, make holes (around 5-10) on the righthand side of one of the wider ones and the lefthand side of the other wider ones, and on both sides of one of the thinner ones. It is important that the holes match up with the corresponding holes of the pieces that would be against that piece.

Cutting

Step Two:

Cut these pieces of wood with a laser cutter or if you're more daring, a saw and a drill.

Tying the Knot

Step Three:

With some string, tie knots with the string in the holes of the rectangles (As seen in the images above).

Gluing the Spine On

Step Four: After you have the knots tied, use the thin rectangle that does not have holes to hide the knots by gluing them to the front of the other thinner rectangle on the outside.

The Page Block

Step Five: Now you need to make a page block. You can do this by looking up another instructable on how to do this or looking up a video on YouTube.

Gluing the Page Block In

Step Six: Glue the page block to the inside of the cover on the spine and if you please you can glue the front and back pages to the front and back covers.
