A simple and fun gift for any young scientist!!! I used 3/4" lumber BUT next time I will use 1 1/4" lumber. The robot pieces shown are TOO challenging for a young scientist to stack without tumbling. Cut wood on a jig saw in many crazy robot shapes...think "head", "abdomen", and "legs". Sand the pieces smooth. Wood burn on details and finish with a rub of olive oil mixed with a touch of essential lavender oil.
