Other Ingredients:
1 large egg
2 pimento-stuffed green olives
2 black olives
2 large carrots
1 baby dill pickle
1 small tomato
4 smoked almonds
1 spring onion sprig
1 bag black bean tortilla chips or blue corn tortilla chips
Tools:
1 Halloween tray, preferably black
1 cutting board
1 zoodle maker or julienne slicer
1 sharp knife
1 small plate
1 fork
1 spoon
1 peeler
1 small saucepan
Cook the Egg
Add the egg to some water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 15 minutes to be sure the yolk is fully cooked.
Peel It
Drain the hot water. Add ice and cool water. Allow to sit for 5 minutes. Easily peel the shell off of the egg.
Cut the Egg
Cut the egg across the center. Cut a small slice off of the bottom of each half. These will form the outer part of the witch's eyes.
Pare the Carrots
Cut off the top and the bottom tip of each carrot. Use a peeler to peel off the outer portion of the carrots.
Zoodle Them!
Run each carrot through a zoodle cutter. You could also just shred the carrots or julienne them. This will form the hair of the witch.
The Cilantro
Finely dice the cilantro.
Prep the Avocado
Cut each avocado in half. Remove the pits. Scoop the avocado flesh into a bowl and smash with a fork.
Make It Guacamole!
To the mashed avocado, add the sriracha sauce, chopped cilantro, lime juice and salt. Blend well. The guacamole should be just a little chunky.
Start to Assemble the Witch
Place each pile of zoodled carrots on the bottom sides of the tray. Save smaller carrot pieces to be placed at the top of her head.
Add the Guacamole
Spoon the guacamole between the 2 piles of carrot hair, forming the head of the witch.
Cut Eybrows
Cut 2 "eyebrows" from the spring onion sprig.
The Eye Pupils
Cut across the center of each of the 2 black olives and 2 green stuffed olives. Place the green olive slices on top of the black olive slices.
Cut the Tomato
Cut 2 slivers of tomato which will be the witch's lips.
Add Chips
Add the black bean tortilla chips to the top of the tray forming the witch's hat.
Add the Eyes and Nose
Position the egg halves for eyes on the face. Top with the olives. Add the dill pickle nose.
Add More Hair and Eyebrows
Place the shorter carrot pieces at the top of the witch's head and add the spring onion eyebrows.
Form the Mouth
Position the tomato pieces to form her lips. Place the almonds in the lips to give her teeth.
