Hello my name is Alex McQuarie. I have spent some time helping short people on the road ways. Have you ever been driving on the road and the sun is just way to bright and the sun visor doesn’t go down far enough? Well I have the solution for you. You will finally be able not to be blinded by the sun. Today I will show and explain 5 easy steps to tinting a brow on your windshield.

Removing the Rearview Mirror

With the right screw driver there should be a screw that holds the rear view mirror to the windshield mounting bracket. The If there is a electrical mirror unplug the connector.

Clean the Windshield

To begin thoroughly clean both inside and outside of the windshield, there should be no dust and no streaks on the windshield there for a ammonia based or alcohol based window cleaner works best. make sure there are no fibers from the microfiber on the windshield.

Tint Placement

Placement for the tint is determined by how far down you want it. Measure

down how far you want it on both sides of the windshield. Mark it with tape on the outside of the windshield.

Getting the Tint in Place

Spray the area where the tint will be with any application solution. Then

lay the roll of tint across the windshield with the straight edge on the tape that you used to mark on the windshield and the side that has the clear film on it facing up. Spray the tint so the squeegee can glide across it with ease and without ruining the tint. Squeegee the tint as flat as you can get it. After that use a razor blade to cut the sides and the top. You may want to use a heat gun to help get bubbles out of the tint which helps shape the tint to the curve of the windshield.

Cutting the Tint

once the tint is in place, cut any excess off as it makes it easier to make the final cut. after the excess is cut using a flashlight of your choice shine it from the inside of the windshield out and cut along the black border you can see through it. it is best to cut 1/8 of an inch into the border to ensure it looks good and room for minor adjustment. after that use a flashlight around the rear view mirror mounting bracket and cut along the shadow of it.

Applying Tint and Placing Mirror Back

Place the tint level with you tape marks that where placed on the outside of the windshield. spray the inside of the windshield with the solution. when peeling the clear film off of the tint also spray that with solution to prevent it from sticking to its self. once it is on the windshield and Cut around the rear view mirror mount and then when squeegeeing it start from the middle and work your way out and remember to work a little fast as the glue will dry fast and it will be hard to move and adjust the tint. Then after everything looks good replace the rearview mirror.

Finished Project

Now that the tint is applied and the mirror is put back. Dispose of waste properly and put tools away. Clean off dash and window of solvent and enjoy. remember to work slowly when cutting the tint. Work fast when tint is applied to the inside of the windshield.
