Whiteboard Clock
Here you'll find how I made this whiteboard clock! It is really easy to make and infinitely customizable, so you can change what is on your clock whenever you want to!
I am entering the untouchable challenge because time is untouchable, and writing on a clock is an elegant way to play with time.
And I am also entering the before/after contest because I have reused an old clock for this project.
Materials
You will need:
- An old clock
- A "sticky whiteboard paper", or "dry erase self-adhesive roll"
- A pair of scissors
- A screw driver
Disassemble the Clock
The first thing to do is to remove the glass (if there is one on your clock), the frame and also the motor and the clock hands.
Cut the Paper and Stick It
Next step is to cut a disk in the whiteboard paper.
To get the perfect disk shape I have placed the clock frame on the paper, and draw the outline.
I have cut the disk.
And to finish I have stick it inside the clock. This step is a bit tricky because the disk has to be centered. I tried many times before I was satisfied, so it it a bit difficult but still possible to do!
Replace the Motor and the Clock Hands
Before replacing the motor you have to make a small hole in the paper, the part holding the clock hands will go through this hole.
Then replace the motor, and the clock hands.
Draw Whatever You Want!
Now it is ready you can write, erase, rewrite, erase again and again...!
Enjoy!
Working Clock
Here is a bonus step because I wanted to add these 2 gifs I made, but they did not fit in the other steps... They show the clock's gears moving to control the clock hands.
