Whirling & Dropping

The Whirling and Dropping Project is a toy easily made with a laser cutter or hand. When the device whirls, the marbles inside drop. By making many of them and connecting them with the one-way tracks, we can establish a small amusement park for playing marbles.

The Whirling and Dropping Project provides an enjoyable experience with handmade and playing when whirling the device. The linear element and the circular plate visualize the mechanism and express the aesthetics of geometry.

1. Styrofoam Glue, Hot Glue Gun

2. Iron wire #18 or thicker (or other hard materials, such as bamboo thicks or wood sticks)

3. Cardboard or thin wood board 0.2mm

4. Scissors, utility knife, awl, pliers

5. Marbles or other kind of balls

Draw on the cardboard and cut them out.

Prepare the Iron wires with pliers.

Drill holes on two of the circles with awl.

Use glue gun and styrofoam glue to fix the wire and cardboard.
