DIY 3 whipped body butters: Chocolate, After Eight and Pim's cakes inspired

Since I love the taste and smell of chocolate, After Eight chocolates and Pim's cakes I made a whipped body butter version of these delicious treats.

And these sure are a treat for your skin! They make great gifts too.

Ingredients

Basic ingrediƫnts:

  • 1 cup cocoa butter
  • 1/2 cup sweet almond oil
  • 5 capsules or 1 tsp vitamine E oil
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil

Additional ingredients

for the chocolate whipped body butter:

  • brown food coloring

for the After Eight whipped body butter:

  • peppermint essential oil
  • green food coloring

for the Pim's cakes whipped body butter:

  • orange essential oil
  • orange (or red & yellow) food coloring

Materials

materials.jpg
  • Double boiler set up (pot with a bowl that fits into it)
  • Mixer
  • Measuring spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Tablespoon
  • Scissors (when using vitamine E capsules)
  • One or more containers

The Basic Recipe

  • Fill your pot with water, place onto a cooking plate and turn on the heat.
  • Place the bowl inside of your pot.
  • Add 1 cup of cocoa butter and 1/2 coconut oil to the bowl.
  • Let it melt completely while stirring.

  • Pour the melted oils into your mixing bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup of sweet almond oil.

  • Add 5 capsules or 1 teaspoon of vitamine E oil.
  • Stir well.

  • Place into the fridge until the mixture is no longer liquid, but not yet hardened either.

  • Whip until it has the fluffy consistency you like.

(Tip: if you overwhip, it will go flat. Place in the fridge and rewhip to fix this)

I'm dividing this mixture into 3 equal parts for the three different body butters, but you can of course turn the entire batch into the one of your choice. This amount will fill about one big mason jar or three medium sized ones. It depends on how much you fluff it up with your mixer. The harder you whip, the more product you'll get.

Turning the Whipped Body Butter Into 'chocolate'

Chocolate

  • The basic recipe already smells like chocolate very much, because of the cocoa butter.
  • Add a few drops of brown food coloring and mix in with a spoon.
  • Whip the mixture a bit more with a mixer.

  • Place into a cute container.
  • Enjoy!

Turning the Whipped Body Butter Into 'After Eight'

After Eight

  • Add a few drops of peppermint essential oil. For 1/3 of my mixture, I'm using 5 drops. So if you'd want to do this for the entire mixture, you'd need 15.
  • Add a few drops of green food coloring.

  • Whip with a mixer.

  • Place into a cute container.
  • Enjoy!

Turning the Whipped Body Butter Into 'Pim's Cakes'

Pim's cakes

  • Add a few drops of orange essential oil. For 1/3 of my mixture, I'm using 5 drops. So if you'd want to do this for the entire mixture, you'd need 15.
  • Add a few drops of orange (or red and yellow) food coloring.

  • Whip with a mixer.

  • Place into a cute container.
  • Enjoy!
