INTRODUCTION

I have made a Hide and Seek game featuring some of my favorite Mario characters because I grew up on Mario games. This game is for people who can’t physically play hide and seek. This is also made for Mario lovers across the world. A person would really like this because the Mario franchise is one of the biggest franchises known and me creating this game is me doing my part to introduce people to the Super Mario World.

STEPS

  1. Open the link to my scratch project and set that aside for now.
  2. Setting up the characters. Cut out the images of Mario, Luigi, King Boo and Luigi’s vacuum using the scissors. **USE CAUTION WHEN USING SCISSORS**
  3. Take a large flap of cardboard off of the box and cut a square that will fit one of the characters.
  4. Cut out a piece of fabric that will be big enough to fix the cardboard square.
  5. Tape the fabric square onto the cardboard square you just cut out.
  6. Tape on the character with the coin. Make sure the coin is on top of the character.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for the rest of the characters
  8. Now that all of your characters are ready, place each character onto another cut-off flap of the cardboard box.
  9. Tape all the characters onto the cardboard flap and make sure they fit properly.
  10. Setting up Makey Makey device Now that the whole project is fully assembled and ready for testing, get your Makey Makey device and your alligator clips, your characters, and your computer.
  11. Plug the USB cord of the Makey Makey into your computer.
  12. Using your alligator clips, clip one end of the alligator clip cord onto the “Arrows” section of the Makey Makey.
  13. Clip the second end onto one character.
  14. Repeat steps 11-13 for the rest of the characters. Attach one half of four more alligator clips to the “EARTH” section of the makey makey device.
  15. Hold the second half of the four alligator clips
  16. Now you can play my game.

FINAL PROJECT

Your cardboard cutouts correlate with the arrows keys on a normal keyboard. Press the cutouts and the scratch project will respond with Mario moving in the direction of the button you pressed. For example, if I pressed a cutout that correlates with the up key, Mario will move up.
