Wheelchair DIY Solid Foot Swing
 — Scaled (44%).png)
Laser cutting templates for making foot swing platforms based on Erik Kondo's The DIY Foot Swing Platform design from opensourcewheelchairs.org.
I used 0.125" thick 6061 aluminum because it was available.

Supplies
Sheet metal (example)
1" adjustable webbing strap with buckle (approximately 60", example)
Laser cutter / CNC for metal OR online cutting service such as sendcutsend.com
Measure

Choose a size based on [the minimum distance between your front casters] and [the width of your shoes next to each other].
- 8.5" x 5" / 21.59 cm x 12.7 cm
- 9" x 5" / 22.86 cm x 12.7 cm
- 9.5" x 5" / 24.13 cm x 12.7 cm
- 10" x 5" / 25.4 cm x 12.7 cm
(i've only made the 9"x5" size.)
I've simplified the files since making the platform in the picture, which has extra round holes that could easily be drilled later on.
Cut the Foot Swing
Make sure to de-burr and sand all the edges.
