What Is Durometer? Understanding the Science of Measuring Softness of Sorbothane Rubber.

IsolateIT Projects - Understanding Durometer

This Instructable explains what Durometer is when used to measure soft rubber like Isolate IT Sorbothane. For our Isolate IT Sorbothane vibration isolators we use a Shore OO scale. Our products primarily come in 30, 50 & 70 Durometers but 40 & 60 Durometer are also available. The Durometer refers to the softness of the rubber with 30 being the softest and 70 being the firmest. Durometer is important for proper tuning of anti-vibration, impact absorbing and acoustic isolators. Find out more about Durometer and Isolate IT Sorbothane at http://www.IsolateIT.com
