The two basic items I used for this project were Wild Teasel and Rust-Oleum Paint. All told, this cost me $3.00 to do - which came down to getting three pints of paint for just under $1.00 a piece. The Wild Teasel grows by the roadside where I live, so after looking at them for months I finally went and picked a stash. The ones I picked were already dry so I didn't even have to wait to start the project - Bonus Points!

Dipping the Teasel

I chose three colors to dip - Red, Blue, and Silver. All the paints I used were oil based, which in the end sealed the Teasel head so that nothing grew out of it - since it did have seeds within the head.

1. Open paint

2. Stir as needed (the metalic silver I used had sediment that needed mixing, the other paints I used didn't.)

3. Dip head of Teasel in paint can

4. Lift out

5. Let paint drip off as needed into paint can

6. Let teasel head dry by hanging (or laying out) above cardboard or something that can be thrown away.

** Repeat process with other colors

** If you have larger heads than what can fit into the paint can - use another vessal for dipping teasel into.

Let Air Dry for at Least 24 Hours

Once Teasel heads are dried, at least 24 hours after dipping, combine them into a preferred vase. From weed to floral arrangement - this thistle looking flower can brighten up any space!

Finally, Enjoy Your New Arrangement Long Term!
