Wedding Name Cards

For our wedding we were looking for something other than the typical folded paper name cards. We found some pretty ones but they were way too expensive, so why not make them ourselves thanks to fablab Leuven.

Supplies

  • Adobe illustrator or Inkscape
  • MDF boards (as many as needed)
  • Lasercutter (thanks Fablab Leuven!)

Step 1: Go to Adobe Illustrator (or Inkscape If You Don't Have AI)

Make the design you want. We decided to go for a round name card and a laurel wreath.
Make sure to use red for the lines that have to be cut and black for the lines that have to be engraved.

Step 2: Cutting

Load your file in the lasercutting program and start cutting, ta-daa. :)
We decided to paint the name cards white for a more sophisticated look.
