Wearables are electronic devices worn on the body. These devices can take different forms, including medical devices, clothing, and more. These devices often include sensors, processors, and communications capabilities that monitor, analyze, and transmit personal data.

There are different wearables devices: the simple devices such as fitness wristbands that measure steps and hate rate, and also there are complex devices, for example, smartwatches.

The design and use of wearables can change depending on their purpose. There are wearables that focus on health or fitness activities, while others are more for communication capabilities and may include AI functions. Most of the wearables collect and analyze real time data (activity levels, biometrics, etc) that provides information to generate a sumary of the person who is wearing the device.

About our project...

The sensors used are MQ-2, DHT11, and ARD-350.

Idea

For this project, we decided to create a wearable to help the people that works in the kitchen, so we design a device capable of measuring the distance between the kitchen staff, temperature and gas within that space in order to reduce the risk of collisions, burns or accidents.

Programming Code for Ultrasonic Sensor

The ARD-350 is an ultrasonic sensor that detects the distance of objects in a range of 1.7 cm to 400 cm.

Programming Code for Gas Sensor

The MQ2 is a gas sensor that helps detecting H2,CH4, Alcohol, Smoke, Propane, etc. . Due to its high sensitivity and fast response time, measurement can be taken as soon as possible. (Seeed Studio Wiki, 2023)

Programming Code for Temperature Sensor and OLED

The DHT11 is a temperature and humidity sensor, which helps to measure the air around the place.

Assemble in the Protoboard

  1. ARD-350 (Ultrasonic sensor).
  2. MQ-2 (gas sensor)
  3. DHT11 (temperature and humidity sensor)

The ultrasonic sensor and the gas sensor are connected to the same attiny, while the temperature sensor is connected to the OLED.
