This project focuses on the fact that physical experiences are related to mental experiences. By providing warmth to one’s body to mimic a hug when anxiety or other drastic emotion changes are detected, this teddy-bear-like coat aims to ease one’s mental feeling through physical comfort.

Supplies

Arduino Uno, ATTiny85, DFR0579 solar module, solar panel(s), GSR sensor (with probes), LM35 temperature sensor, 10kΩ resistor, carbon tape (about 6 feet), 3.8V battery, 12V battery, MOSFET, conductive silver glue, conductive fabric

This is the diagram of my circuit and what it looks like in the interlayer of the fabric. I glued my carbon tape to the fabric and used tape to make the wires and components more stable, but sewing them might make more sense. To connect a wire to my carbon tape, I used a conductive silver glue and have the carbon tape sandwich the wire at the zig-zag points.

Code

Here's my code and a video of me testing it with Arduino Uno - you can see the temperature value increasing because it is attached to the carbon tape. I then used "Arduino as ISP" to upload the code to ATTiny85.

Feature

Solar panels on the shoulder to collect solar energy for ATTiny85, GSR and temperature sensors; extra pocket to contain the detachable 12V battery (I didn't want it to be connected all the time because the default value of my MOSFET is True which makes it automatically heat if ATTiny85 runs out of energy), conductive fabric on the wrist to ensure the GSR probe's connection to the skin.
