Watermelon and Chervil Sushi
Looking for a simple way to make sushi? Well, I have done just that! I have come up with a delicious way to incorporate watermelon into sushi! Crazy, right? But it actually tastes good! Don't put too much chervil, or it will overpower the flavor of the watermelon.
What You Will Need
Ingredients:
Watermelon
Chervil (you can substitute in parsley if you can't find chervil)
Rice Paper
Soaking Your Rice Paper
Take one sheet of rice paper and have a bowl of water ready. Plop the rice paper into the bowl of water for about 30 seconds, or until it's thin and bendable. Once this is complete, you must now gently place the rice paper on a plate as flat as you can.
Assembling the Filling
Once the rice paper is flat on the plate, you can begin to cut your watermelon. Cut the melon in half, and use an apple corer to make a cylinder. Place the watermelon in the middle the rice paper. Tear off as many leaves of chervil as you would like. To not overpower the watermelon, use about 3-4 leaves. Place them on top of the watermelon, being careful not to use the stems.
Folding the Rice Paper
Start from the top. Grab the edge of the paper, and fold it over the watermelon as far as it will go, without breaking. then, fold in the sides, left first, then right. Finally, roll the watermelon log downwards to the end of the rice paper. Flip over the roll so that the crease is at the bottom of the plate.
The Finished Product
Dip the blade of a knife in water, and cut the sushi in half. Make as many as you desire, and enjoy! :)
